The technology we use at St. Clair Beach Dental Centre helps us provide patients with efficient dental care including digital X-Rays and intraoral scanners.
Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
At St. Clair Beach Dental Centre, we use technology to help inform treatment planning and make your dental appointments run more efficiently. We can display digital scans and X-Rays on monitors in our treatment rooms, then show you any issues in your mouth and review your treatment plan with you.
Our goal is to provide efficient dental care to our patients and keep them fully informed regarding their oral health. Dental technology helps us accomplish this.
Digital X-Rays
Instead of traditional photographic X-Ray film, digital X-Rays use digital sensors. They produce extremely detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, in addition to other oral structures and conditions. This allows your dentist to examine parts of your mouth that would not otherwise be visible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
With panoramic X-Rays, your dentist can create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), upper and lower jaws, and nasal and sinus structures. These X-Rays are often used to help plan treatments for braces, dentures, implants and extractions.
Intraoral Scanners
We use intraoral scanners to create digital dental impressions, an alternative to traditional dental impressions that some people find off-putting. Your dentist uses an optical scanning wand to capture a digital image of your teeth in just minutes. This device allows your dentist to create digital replicas of tissues.
